Responsive images that put your content first
By Stackmodo
Priority loading for visible products, screen-appropriate image sizes and preserved focal points improve how your storefront presents its imagery.
September 15, 2026 product update
Product photography should appear where shoppers expect it, without making a phone load the same image sizes as a large desktop display. We have improved how Stackmodo prepares and presents images across catalog, editorial and commerce pages.
Highlights
- Give the first visible catalog images loading priority.
- Use image sizes better matched to their display area and screen.
- Load imagery farther down the page as it is needed.
- Preserve the focal points your team has chosen for its images.
Start with what the visitor can see
The initial catalog row receives priority instead of waiting for the same loading behavior used farther down the page. Later products and unrelated sections keep their on-demand image loading. This focuses the initial work on the products a visitor encounters first.
Fit the image to its placement
Responsive image sizes account for the space an image actually occupies, including smaller mobile placements. The changes apply beyond product cards to imagery used in editorial and commerce pages, keeping the delivery approach consistent as people move through a site.
Keep the subject in focus
Your selected focal points remain attached to the imagery when its prepared sizes are refreshed. That preserves an important editorial choice: which part of a photo should stay prominent when the layout changes. Actual loading time still depends on the page, device and connection; this update makes the image-loading work more targeted.
